Hafer's Gunsmithing

Hafer’s is by far the best gun shop and gunsmithing business I have ever been to. They have such a huge selection at both Hagerstown and Falling Waters locations. The staff is so friendly and they were able to get my pistol repairs done in a timely manner. I was even told that it would take a few months to get all the parts in and it only took less than a month ! I have purchased numerous firearms from Hafer’s and they make the process so easy and quick, even with the transfers. I will definitely be returning and recommending all services at Hafer’s to everyone I know ! Thanks Hafer’s !

Hafers is the worst gun shop experience I have ever had. I brought my fathers 30 carbine in for missing parts and to be assembled because I would be out of town and unable to do myself. I am a manufacturing technician by trade and an avid gun owner. Nonetheless I took it in and was quoted by the employee taking the in at less than 300 and it would also be done in time for his birthday 3 weeks from then. Flash forward 2 months without a single phone call I had to call and ask about the repairs and they were still not complete. Once it was done I was told a price of 410. I didn't argue on the phone and once in the shop I argued my case of dropping the cost. Staff was extremely rude and unwilling to work with me and wouldn't even make eye contact with me. This process has been so inconvenient and I would never go back to hafers in spite of being told not to go there in the first place from all the other local shops and now I know why. I'd give zero stars if possible just due to the poor attitude received in store. I don't know how staff can give quotes that are not honored and subject to change without any call to the gun owner. Very poor management of staff. I did shake the owners hand and said no hard feelings but I was lied multiple times by staff if the owner doesn't like the review then maybe he should have better customer service. Edit to owner: When gun was brought in, I brought in a parts diagram with the missing parts circled with the part numbers. Staff member knew exactly what parts were needed and even pointed out another part that was missing and was completely aware of what was needed to complete the job. So I believe an accurate quote was given and the staff failed to write it down. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens very often as a business practice. But the problem lies with the staff and shouldn't have been blamed on the customer.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hafer's Gunsmithing in Hagerstown and I must say, my experience there was simply fantastic. The staff was exceptional, especially Kelly who assisted me with my purchase. She was knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful in helping me find the perfect gun for my needs. The team at Hafer's Gunsmithing also made quick work to get me turned around for a clay shoot that same Friday. They were able to prepare everything I needed with such efficiency and professionalism, that I felt confident and well-prepared for my shoot. I cannot speak highly enough about the level of service and expertise provided by the team at Hafer's Gunsmithing. They truly go above and beyond to make sure their customers are taken care of. I will definitely be recommending Hafer's Gunsmithing to all of my friends and colleagues who are looking for quality firearms and accessories.
